Levi Pearson Scholarship Fund
About Levi Pearson Scholarship Fund
Clarendon County has such rich history embedded in the fabric of its great community. It is the homestead of the first original case that led to Brown vs. Board of Education in Topeka Kansas. The family members of Mr. Levi Pearson, the recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor and the catalyst to the Briggs vs. Elliott case, have established a scholarship to assist deserving Clarendon and Sumter County students. They saw the need to help those students wanting to attend college and fulfill their academic dream by helping to provide some financial support. They believe that every child’s dream to attend college should become a reality. To date the foundation has awarded over $10,000 in scholarships to deserving young men and women of Clarendon and Sumter Counties.
